4/four was created in collaboration with artist Bibi Calderaro. The mode of collaboration was modeled after John Cage and Merce Cunningham's duos, in which neither artist was aware of the other's process until the moment of performance. Commissioned by the Machine Project for the Little William Theater | Festival of New Music at the Hammer Museum (UCLA).
